Amongst the other businesses which make up the estate is Caerhays Barton the farming enterprise.
In the middle of the last century Caerhays was famous for its herd of pedigree South Devon cattle with many awards, prizes and championships gained through the expertise and care of the farm managers at the time.

In keeping with the changing face of farming Caerhays now has a herd of Salers Cattle and our present farm manager is keeping up the tradition with Saler prize-winners in many major national shows over the last few years.
Along with the Salers there is also a small herd of Highland (cuddly) Cattle here which are often to be found grazing in the park in front of the castle, much to visitors delight.
